‘Ultra-flexible’ airspring for latest Audi A8
For the new Audi A8, Vibracoustic has developed an airspring with what’s being described as a uniquely thin-walled and especially flexible bellow. Its makers say the new technology allows the modern airspring bellow to withstand the most demanding kinematic loads.
“With this superior bellow technology, the supporting fibers are installed only in the axial direction,” explained Vibracoustic engineer Jan Müller. “This technology requires a highly precise production process, which results in a robust airspring with a very comfortable roll characteristic.”
Vibracoustic says that the airspring is suitable for a wide range of Audi models and will be produced for all A6 and A8 variants.
