Bridgestone wins first Citroën fitments
Bridgestone is to supply tires for factory fitment on two new Citroën models, the 2010 C3 compact and the DS3, the first model in Citroën’s new premium DS line. The contract marks the first time in more than 70 years that non-Michelin tires will be fitted to a Citroën.
The French OEM has selected Bridgestone’s top sport tire – the Potenza RE050A – in 205/45 R17 88V XL size for the DS3 three-door hatchback. The tire has an asymmetric tread design, which provides high-level safety in the wet and meets Citroën’s specification for outstanding dry braking performance.
“Bridgestone is extremely pleased to work with Citroën and supply flagship Potenza and Turanza tires for the launch of these two exciting new models. Both our companies share the same commitment to creativity and technology,” commented Didier Schneider, vice president original equipment, Bridgestone Europe. “Expanding our business with French car manufacturers and a top European player like Citroën strengthens our position as a global player.”
