Dymag carbon wheels fitted to a Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Dymag Technologies and its parent company, Borbet GmbH, have announced a strategic partnership with Advanced International Multitech (AIM) to accelerate the development and industrialisation of lightweight carbon hybrid and composite wheel technology for the automotive and motorcycle markets.

This collaboration brings together Dymag’s expertise in carbon wheel technology, Borbet’s position as a leading producer of aluminium wheels for the OEM and aftermarket sectors, and AIM’s advanced manufacturing capabilities (AIM is Taiwan’s largest producer of carbon composite products).

Dymag has been involved with carbon wheel technology since the mid-1990s, and claims it developed the world’s first commercial carbon hybrid wheels for automotive and motorcycle applications, engineered to offer high levels of durability, impact resistance, and stiffness.

The collaboration leverages Borbet and AIM’s established supply networks, AIM’s scalable production infrastructure, and Dymag’s technical expertise, to create a robust supply solution for global markets. Through close technical alignment and coordinated development, the partners say they can seamlessly integrate carbon hybrid wheels into OEM production lines – a big step toward widespread adoption. Dymag’s BX-F carbon wheel designs will be combined with Borbet’s OEM expertise, and AIM’s advanced manufacturing processes.

“By combining Borbet’s OEM expertise with Dymag’s pioneering carbon wheel technology, we are creating a scalable solution that will redefine high-performance wheels for automakers worldwide,” said Burkhard Plett, CEO of Borbet.
