Vehicle dynamics software company, Mechanical Simulation Corporation, is celebrating a major milestone: its 25th anniversary. In fact the company’s roots can be traced even earlier than its opening on 3 April 1996, as the technology on which the company was established began life in the PhD work of Dr Michael W. Sayers, one of the company’s original founders, who remains an active member of the organisation, as CEO and CTO.
Mechanical Simulation says that when the company started business, its vehicle dynamics software immediately changed how the industry prototyped, designed and tested vehicles. Its CarSim and TruckSim packages quickly became familiar names in the automotive industry.
The company’s technology may still be familiar in principle, but there have been many changes over Mechanical Simulation’s 25 years. The company started life with five people working in a basement, and since then it has moved headquarters three times, expanded internationally, and produced dozens of software releases. Now, on its silver anniversary, Mechanical Simulation now provides car, truck and motorcycle simulation packages worldwide to more than 200 OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, hundreds of universities and government research groups, and the software is used on hundreds of driving simulators.
“On its 25th birthday, Mechanical Simulation Corporation continues to grow, innovate and pioneer in an industry that constantly accelerates vehicle development requirements,” stated Terence J. Rhoades, the company’s president.
Rhoades added that Mechanical Simulation Corporation just finished one of its best fiscal years despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and that the company looks forward to celebrating its anniversary with all of its customers, colleagues, family and friends.
