ContiTech has evaluated a total of 200 suppliers and selected five companies to hold the title of Supplier of the Year 2015 in the fields of anti-vibration technology and noise isolation. ContiTech bases its evaluation on various criteria, including product quality, good supplier performance with fast availability, and a high level of development expertise.

According to ContiTech, the five selected Suppliers of the Year 2015 – Karl A. Sass, Shanghai Heba Die-Casting, Brugger, BASF SE, and Chosen Moulding & Assembly – all displayed “impressive supply performance” during 2015. Further details of the suppliers’ activities are below.

“Our suppliers are key to the success of our company. We can maintain the highest quality standards and achieve technological progress only with the support of our partners,” stated Hicran Hayik-Koller, lead buyer for raw materials and chemicals at ContiTech Vibration Control.

Brugger, Shanghai Heba Die-Casting and Karl A. Sass have all been awarded the title of Supplier of the Year in previous years, with this being the eighth award for Brugger. “Brugger works to high standards and the company is sustainable and environmentally conscious yet still manages to remain competitive,” explained Hayik-Koller. In addition, Chosen Moulding & Assembly and BASF SE received the title of top supplier for the first time. BASF SE is a longstanding partner of ContiTech and supplies high-tech materials that enable modern lightweight construction solutions for chassis mounting systems, for example.

ContiTech’s Suppliers of the Year 2015

Karl A. Sass

Karl A. Sass manufactures stamped and drawn components as prototypes as well as in production and offers its customers advice in the development of these components. The primary business areas of the company include sheet-formed parts for metal-to-rubber components, air spring pots, suspensions for dirt absorbers, and clinched and butt-joint rings. In 2015, Sass Metall had 24 employees and generated sales of around €4 million.

Shanghai Heba Die-Casting

Die-casting specialist Shanghai Heba Die-Casting supplies the ContiTech plants in China, Mexico, and Slovakia with aluminum die-cast components from China. The company is certified in accordance with ISO/TS16949 and ISO14001. With 135 employees, it generated sales of around €12 million in 2015.

Brugger

Brugger is one of the leading manufacturers of permanently magnetic assemblies and supplies the ContiTech plant in Hanover. Brugger supplements and finishes metal-to-rubber elements from ContiTech Vibration Control with magnet systems. In 2015, Brugger Magnetsysteme generated sales of €12.6 million and employed 94 members of staff.

BASF SE

The Performance Materials division at BASF combines all of the materials expertise of BASF under one roof for the production of customized plastics. The company offers a range of products and services as well as an understanding of application-oriented system solutions. In 2015, BASF employed around 112,000 staff members at 344 production sites and generated sales of more than €70 billion – €6.7 billion of which can be attributed to the Performance Materials division.

Chosen Moulding & Assembly

The specialist in precision metal stamping, casting molds, and manufacturing facilities develops and produces its products in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and China. Its range includes plastic injection molding and aluminum die-casting, as well as processing right up to the manufacture of the entire product.
