Maurice Gloster has joined Randle Engineering as senior mechanical engineer

Randle Engineering, the UK-based design and development engineering consultancy, has appointed Maurice Gloster as senior mechanical engineer, to enhance its vehicle systems engineering capability.

Gloster brings more than 25 years of automotive engineering experience, specialising in chassis systems, suspension design, vehicle architecture and vehicle dynamics. His career has focused on taking programmes from early-stage concept through to production, combining analytical engineering with practical design and development.

He joins Randle from REE Automotive, where he worked on the company’s electric vehicle platform, including modular chassis architectures, suspension and subframe systems, as well as multi-disciplinary engineering programmes aimed at optimising vehicle weight, manufacturability and cost.

Prior to REE Automotive, Gloster spent more than 20 years at Jaguar Land Rover in a variety of engineering roles across vehicle development programmes. He led suspension architecture integration activities, developed digital engineering tools to streamline design processes, and contributed to several technical innovations, including automated computer-aided design (CAD) and kinematic modelling tools.

His other achievements at Jaguar Land Rover include the optimisation of suspension layouts across multiple vehicle architectures, concept design work on next-generation electric vehicle platforms, and delivery of production-ready suspension and subframe systems.

“One of the things that attracted me to Randle Engineering was the breadth of technical challenges the business undertakes. I’ve always enjoyed solving complex engineering problems, whether that’s developing new concepts or refining existing designs,” said Gloster.

“Randle has an excellent technical reputation and a collaborative culture, and I’m looking forward to working closely with clients, understanding their engineering challenges and helping deliver practical, robust solutions,” he added.

Peter Benzie, engineering manager at Randle Engineering, explained the company was drawn to Gloster’s experience, which spans the full vehicle development cycle, from concept engineering through to production release, and covers both conventional and electric vehicle programmes.

“His expertise in suspension systems, vehicle integration and mechanical design will further strengthen our engineering capability and provide additional value for clients developing increasingly complex products,” Benzie said.
