Cadillac Formula 1 Team has commissioned a DMG-360XY driving simulator, for installation at its headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
The simulator, developed by Dynisma in the UK, is designed to enable highly accurate, high-fidelity motion response through ultra-low latency and high bandwidth, which gives the levels of realism and correlation required for modern driver-in-the-loop (DiL) simulation.
The DMG-360XY platform features with the latest LED wall visualisation technology, and has a large excursion capability of up to five metres of XY travel and unlimited yaw, which enables replication of complex vehicle dynamics and driver feedback.
The simulator will be used to support a range of applications including vehicle development, driver preparation and setup work across the Formula 1 calendar. It will also help them team adapt to new Formula 1 regulations, which bring fundamental changes in terms of required car behaviour, power unit characteristics, and aerodynamic performance.
