Given the small dimensions of the car, McMurtry’s engineers face a challenge to package ultra-high-performance suspension components in a tight space under the carbon bodywork. The springs and dampers, plus anti-roll bars and rockers have been engineered to perform with the car’s 2,000kg of downforce-on-demand from standstill.
The production-spec Spéirling Pure makes use of off-the-shelf slick Michelin tyres, which are now 10% wider than the tyres used to set the Top Gear Test Track lap record in 2025. As a result, cornering forces have increased from 3G to 3.5G, with braking forces at 4G.
