The first brake calipers to be produced fully in-house at AP Racing in Coventry, UK

AP Racing has manufactured and dispatched the first brake calipers to be machined entirely in-house at its facility in Coventry, UK. The company says that its new in-house machining capability is important for its manufacturing operations, bringing more production processes under direct company control and strengthening its ability to support customers across motorsport, OEM and high-performance automotive markets.

“By expanding our in-house machining capability, we’re creating closer links between design, manufacturing and quality assurance, allowing our teams to work more collaboratively and efficiently,” said Lee Cowley, operations director at AP Racing.

“This is about investing in the expertise, technology and processes that will support the next generation of AP Racing products and the customers who rely on them. Machining our race-proven brake calipers in-house gives us greater control throughout the development and production process, helping us deliver the precision, consistency and performance expected in the world’s most demanding racing environments,” he added.

The investment in machining technology forms part of AP Racing’s wider investment programme, supporting the continued development of high-performance braking technologies for global motorsport, OEM and performance vehicle markets
