Automotive technology supplier, Marelli, is planning to make several new product launches at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in China (24 April to 3 May), and to showcase its range of innovations. The booth (W2B08) in Hall W2 at the New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC Beijing), will be organised into six distinct product areas.
Standout launches for VDI readers will be the new technologies in the Ride Dynamics zone, including the evolved fully active electromechanical suspension, the new hybrid electromechanical suspension, an active camber system, and an electromechanical lifter.
Marelli will also show new propulsion technologies, such as an e-transmission cooling pump for electric and hybrid vehicles, alongside a flex fuel system. The company will also highlight solutions from its Green Technologies portfolio for the efficient management of thermal energy, including its new high-performance chiller and e-axle oil cooler, together with the full aluminium radiator.
New electronics
The Electronics area of the stand will showcase advanced technologies for the cockpit experience, including an ultra-thin MiniLED display and a next generation HorizonView pillar-to-pillar display. Alongside this, the evolution of the journey towards the software-defined vehicle is supported by several technologies, with special attention to the audio experience, through solutions like the zone control unit that enables scalable audio distribution across the vehicle, and an audio amplifier that provides high-fidelity sound over Ethernet.
The company is also introducing its Affordable 5G RedCap solution to China. Marelli will also have two dedicated demonstrators featuring innovations for the instrument panel, including a swivel motorised speaker and various ambient lighting options.
In the exterior lighting field, the company will present technologies including corner-to-corner headlamps, high-performance microLED headlamp technologies, and flat-lit surfaces.
Localised customer hubs
Marelli will be showing the technologies under the theme of ‘Rooted in innovation, everywhere’, referring to its distributed model for innovation. Many vehicle makers operate globally, with hubs in different regions of the world, with each market requiring localised and tailored solutions.
By combining local engineering and supply chains with global coordination, Marelli can support customers wherever they operate, with localised design, development, sourcing, and manufacturing. At Auto China in Beijing, the company plans to demonstrate how this approach enables “in China, for China” solutions, while applying the same model worldwide by leveraging local capabilities and suppliers.
This strategy is designed to deliver benefits in terms of speed, affordability, and sustainability. A dedicated paper will be available at Marelli’s booth, detailing its polycentric operating model, designed to leverage regional expertise and cost structures to optimise time-to-market and strengthen market resilience.
