Easyrain has strengthened its leadership team through the appointment of Roberto Fedeli as a strategic advisor. In his new role, Fedeli will work alongside the company’s management team to support business development and accelerate the industrialisation of Easyrain’s software, hardware and Cloud products, designed to enable assisted and autonomous driving even in challenging road conditions.
An engineer with an international track record, Fedeli spent 26 years at Ferrari (1988–2014), rising to the position of technical director and contributing to the development of several models. In 2014 he joined BMW Group, and in 2016 he became chief technical officer for Alfa Romeo and Maserati. He later led innovation at Silk-FAW and served as group CTO at Aston Martin.
Fedeli will apply his decades of experience in the automotive industry to support Easyrain in the development and market positioning of its technologies: DAI virtual sensing, the AIS active system, and the ERC Cloud platform. He will also contribute to reinforcing Easyrain’s industrialisation roadmap, to support the adoption and integration of its systems by global vehicle manufacturers.
DAI, Easyrain’s virtual sensing platform, enables the system to distinguish between high- and low-friction conditions and the real-time recognition of critical scenarios such as heavy rain and aquaplaning, snow, ice, and poor road surfaces. DAI, which does not additional hardware or a data connection, can also monitor conditions including under-inflated tyres, incorrect wheel alignment, and tread wear.

Fedeli will also bring his perspective to the AIS active system, designed to mitigate loss of grip on low-adhesion surfaces, in conditions such as heavy rain, aquaplaning, and on snow and ice. Easyrain is currently developing AIS 2, which has already undergone its first tests in Sweden on a Proof of Concept vehicle.
“It is with great pride, and a strong sense of responsibility, that we welcome Roberto to the Easyrain team. We are confident that his standing and expertise in automotive engineering will represent a significant asset on our journey. I am certain Roberto will make a decisive contribution to the growth plan we are pursuing, and that together we will build the success we are working towards,” said Giovanni Blandina, founder & CEO of Easyrain.
“Always passionate about innovation, and having devoted my professional life to turning ideas into products and tangible customer benefits, I was delighted to accept Giovanni’s invitation. I will bring to Easyrain the experience I have built over the course of my career, with the aim of helping translate its innovative solutions into products for next-generation vehicles,” commented Roberto Fedeli.
